Chanukah candle cupcake
What You Need: 1 cupcake; white frosting; blue frosting in pastry bag with #3 metal tip (or use premade icing in tube); yellow tear-shaped candies (these are sour “Cry Babies,” found at a mall candy store bulk bin.)
How to Make It: Frost cupcake. Squeeze pastry bag or tube and move tip rapidly back and forth along 3/4 of the height of the cupcake as shown to form candle shape. Top with upside-down teardrop candy for flame.

Blue Star of David cupcake
What You Need: 1 cupcake; white or vanilla frosting; blue sugar sprinkles; Star of David edible topper (I got mine from Kake Kreations); 1M metal tip; pasty bag.
How to Make It: Fit pastry bag with 1M swirl tip, and make a 1M swirl. Immediately sprinkle with blue sugar and top with Star of David.

M&M menorah cupcake
What You Need: 1 cupcake; white frosting; frosting tinted blue; pastry bag and #1 metal tip (or buy writing icing in a tube); 9 yellow mini M&Ms.
How to Make It: Frost cupcake. “Draw” a triangle for the menorah base and a line going up from that. Then draw four semi-circles, progressively large, as shown. “Light” each of the 9 candles by placing a mini M&M sideways at the top of the blue lines.
Celebrate Hanuakkah with this very easy menorah cupcake. By using gel icing in a tube, you can avoid the trouble and mess of pastry bags.
What You Need: 1 cupcake; white frosting; blue gel icing in a tube; chocolate covered sunflower seeds (yellow).
How to Make It: Frost cupcake. Use tube icing to draw menorah, with the candle in the center higher than the rest. Add nine yellow, chocolate-covered sunflower seeds, point side down, for “flames.”
Making this Star of David cupcakes for Hanukkah is as simple as tinting icing blue and piping 2 triangles.

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); icing tinted light blue; white icing (works a little better if you add some piping gel, but this is not essential); pastry bag (any type); round tip 1, 2 or 3. You could also just buy a tube of white writing icing or gel.
How to Make It: Frost cupcake blue. Let set for a few minutes. Use tip to “draw” one triangle and then draw another in the opposite position. (Hint: Icing pipes better if you “anchor” each line by lightly touching it to the surface. Then squeeze as you hold tip slightly above the surface and move in the direction you want, touching down again when you reach another turning point.)
